It’s very dark when I walk to work in the evenings now, and I’m appreciative of the decorative lampposts in people’s gardens. They do more than light the way — they add an aesthetic and an atmosphere that hint of cosy kindness.

Hello, December!


I am excited about the arrival of the Christmas season now that December is really here. For me, the Thanksgiving weekend always marks the beginning of decorations and Christmas carols, though nowadays we wait until Solstice to put up our Christmas tree so that its sparkly goodness can mark the return of the Light. Until then, we will gradually put out our Nativity sets, candles and other other traditional treasures, beginning with our wooden advent tree today.

And in the meantime, reindeer already starting to roam through Thundersley.
