When I turned 60 earlier this year, I looked for meaningful ways to mark the occasion. I wanted to leave a legacy that would reflect my humanity, my heart, and my humour. At the time, I created a tree of hearts to express my gratitude for my life and wanted to find ways of sending the individual hearts as blessings into the world.
Six months on, I have started creating little critters — bears, bunnies and the like — and have decided to insert one tiny crocheted heart into each of one in hopes that its mere presence will somehow carry my blessings into the life of the recipient. I am fascinated by doll-making, and this craft is one I have longed to indulge in. Enjoy!
