‘Twas a lovely day at Heybridge Basin this morning and the animals were out in force! (These statues are in one of the gardens bordering on the footpath.)
Further down the road, the tide was in, and the cold, clear air made for a beautiful coastal wander. Heybridge Basin is the start of the Chelmer and Blackwater navigation; we often see boats from distant points coming or going through the sea lock, which is opened by hand, on demand and when the tide is right.
