Exercising My Right

Polling2

I made my way to our local polling station with pride this morning. I am quite proud of my right to vote, and endeavour not to miss any of the elections where I am entitled to cast my ballot. Here in Britain, I can vote in all elections, and as an expat American citizen, I can – and do – still vote in the federal elections there as well. Today I am feeling grateful for all those who fought for me to have the right to make my voice heard; voting still isn’t a universal right, and people have worked hard and sacrificed much on our behalf.
