Our shortest day, a gentle six mile walk from O Mesón do Vento to a beautiful rural villa in Ordes. There were virtually no hills to climb today, just beautiful paths through Sunday morning tranquility. We didn’t see any other pilgrims, just locals out walking or hunting, or walking to their local church for mass. One elderly gentleman was delighted to hear I’m from England and wanted to talk about the disaster that is Brexit. Sigh. Even here. Our biggest challenge was fighting off this pilgrim-eating dinosaur – not sure what his story is, but he gave us a good giggle! We are staying in a lovely rural country home/restaurant that is plying us with local wines and snacks as we sit enjoying the sunshine before dinner. Body and soul are relaxing, easing. We have two more days of walking before we reach Santiago, about ten miles each day.

So glad you both dodged that dinosaur! I love seeing where you are staying and the blue skies and the wonderful people and sights you are finding along the way. I am so happy for you!
